Database of the Ancient Mosaics in the region SEE

mosaic_foto_umanjena.jpegDatabase created in the course of the regional survey Mosaic Conservation and Training of Conservators in Southeast Europe, is now available on www.seemosaics.org. It contains information on ancient mosaics and conservation practice from 39 archaeological sites open to public and 32 museums from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia. The website with database was designed as a tool to present survey results and encourage regional collaboration. It will be further developed to serve promotion of mosaic heritage and mosaic conservation activities in SE Europe.

Course of Preventive Conservation of the Artworks on Paper

Otvaranje kursa.jpegCentral Institute for Conservation (CIK), in cooperation with the Museum Documentation Centre (MDC) and the Croatian Conservation Institute (HRZ) from Zagreb, will organized course of Preventive conservation of the artworks on paper, on 3 and 4 October 2012.

The course is meant for the curators and conservators- restorers who are responsible for the care of museums, churches, galleries and private collections of artworks on paper, as well as for professionals who are responsible for collections that include art pieces on paper.

Aim of the course is to raise the level of preventive conservation of the artworks on paper and the presentation of the standards and modern methods of their protection.

Over 20 curators and conservators from different institutions of protection of the cultural heritage from Serbia and Macedonia will participate on the course- CIK, National Library, Archive of Yugoslavia, the Museum of Applied Arts, Belgrade City Museum, Museum of the City of Novi Sad, Gallery of Matica Srpska, Contemporary Gallery in Zrenjanin etc.

Annual Meeting and Conference of ICOM ICR

Prijepolje.jpegFrom 22. to 28. September 2012. the International Committee of ICOM for Regional Museums (ICOM ICR) was organized Annual Meeting and Conference in Belgrade and Prijepolje (Serbia), with the topic Home and Hearth:  Regional Museums and Gastronomic Heritage.   

The Conference and meeting were organized in cooperation with Regional Alliance of ICOM for South East Europe (ICOM SEE), Central Institute for Conservation (CIK) and the Museum of Prijepolje.

Collection Management Programme

The Programme is intended for professionals from Serbia and the region, employees of museums and other protection institutions, students with work experience at museums and in cultural heritage conservation, as well as for students who wish to take part in cultural heritage protection activities.

Master and PhD studies of the Heritage Conservation

logo CIK-a_samo znak.jpegCentral Institute for Conservation, in cooperation with the Faculty of Media and Communications of the Singidunum University, has prepared a program for the Master and PhD studies of the Heritage Conservation. The realization of these studies is planned to start in 2012/2013 academic year.

Creation of Master and PhD studies of the Heritage Conservation was initiated and designed by the Central Institute for Conservation.

Master and PhD programs are consistent with the objectives and goals of the Singidunum University and were adopted according to the Regulation on the adoption of the studies program of the University.

Second Regional Scientific Conference of ICOM SEE

IMG_8140.jpegRegional Alliance of ICOM for South East Europe (RA SEE ICOM) and the Central Institute for Conservation in Belgrade are organized a Second Regional Scientific Conference Risk Assessment of Cultural and Natural Heritage in the Region of South East Europe.

Conference topics were included: architectural and monumental heritage; archeological heritage-sites; movable heritage (museum objects; archival, library and film material; intangible and natural heritage.

The conference aims to initiate cooperation, scientific and professional dialogue and exchange between all the participants in the field of risk assessment: experts from all disciplines, politics creators, private sector, NGO’s and other interested groups.

Second Regional Scientific Conference of ICOM SEE

Annual Meeting of ICOM ICR in SERBIA

ICR_logo.jpegNext Annual Meeting of ICOM ICR  (International Committee for Regional Museums) will be organized in Serbia, from 23 September – 2 October 2012, with the topic Gastronomic Heritage. The conference is organized in cooperation with Regional alliance of ICOM for South East Europe- ICOM SEE, National Committee of ICOM of Serbia and Museum in Prijepolje.

Conference will especially envisage the role of the Regional museums in the promotion and preservation of gastronomic heritage. The main event of Conference will be organized in the little multicultural town Prijepolje, situated in the mountain in the South West Serbia and in the border of 3 countries: Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro.
